This time last year, one of my closest friends and bride-to-be, Venisha, needed alterations on her reception outfit. Her crystal stone-work design white gown had to be fitted to her size and was too long, even with heels. Looking at this dazzling gown, I quickly realized that it would be a complex job but I knew, my mom, Hemisha, was more than capable.
We set up a private fitting and after about an hour of measuring, pinning and discussing our options we finally had a plan. We spent 2 weeks on her gown, being careful to remove each row of stones and beading before cutting and sewing. We left the dress a tiny bit long so that with heels it would be perfect. The best part? We took the 4 rows of crystals that we removed and doubled it up to make a couture bracelet cuff; it was the perfect add-on accessory! House of hems also fitted Venisha's deep red wedding blouse and added a crystal border to her deep red tulle bridal wedding veil.
In the end, it all came together; Venisha looked absolutely breathtaking and beautiful on her special day. I have pictures to prove it, just LOOK at this happy couple!
Special shoutout to my moms for taking on this project, you never disappoint. Huge thanks to Venisha & Hardik, for allowing us to share this story with our readers!
